PERGAMON: TREE OF KNOWLEDGE (Part Three)

PERGAMON: TREE OF KNOWLEDGE
The real history of Halloween | Hollow Weeny | Part THREE

ADVANCING DEMONIC IMAGERY

Many believers are duped into advancing the very faces of Satan simply because they do not recognize how subtle his strategies have become. Just as Balaam seduced Israel through participation rather than open rebellion, the enemy now disguises darkness in cultural traditions, entertainment, and “harmless” celebrations that seem innocent on the surface. Without discernment, Christians end up promoting imagery, rituals, and narratives that glorify fear, death, and rebellion against God—never realizing they are lending their voice, their influence, and even their children to the enemy’s agenda. Satan doesn’t need believers to worship him outright; he only needs them to participate without thinking. In that participation, the very people called to expose darkness advance its faces.

In my early adulthood, I built and managed one of the largest haunted houses in our community—fully convinced I was doing something meaningful, even evangelistic. How and why could I be so foolish? But I was. I had swallowed the lie that demonic imagery could somehow be used to lead attendees to Christ, as if darkness could ever be a doorway to the Light.

That ideology trapped me, blinded me, and made me believe I was serving the Kingdom while actually advancing Balaam's very doctrines. Now, looking back, I can say without hesitation: that was stupid, and stupid does what stupid believes. By God’s grace, my eyes were opened, and I walked away from that deception and every connection to it.

From Babylon: The First Manifestation of Satan’s Throne

Satan’s first major appearance in human civilization was in Babylon, the birthplace of organized rebellion against God. Babylon was more than a city—it was a spiritual system built on pride, idolatry, and counterfeit worship.

It probably looked like our modern Halloween!

Nimrod’s empire established the pattern: create a culture where the demonic feels normal, where rebellion feels noble, and where the masses participate without recognizing the spiritual cost. Babylon became the prototype of Satan’s throne on earth, a place where humanity was conditioned to view darkness as enlightenment and idolatry as progress. This was the beginning of Satan’s long campaign to reshape how humanity perceives him—not as a destroyer, but as a liberator.

To Pergamon: The Altar of Zeus and the Doctrine of Balaam

Centuries later, Satan relocated his throne to Pergamon, where the massive altar of Zeus dominated the landscape. Yeshua Himself identified Pergamon as the place “where Satan’s throne is,” because the city embodied the same seductive mixture Babylon pioneered. Through festivals, rituals, and civic celebrations, Pergamon normalized pagan worship and desensitized the population to demonic imagery. The doctrine of Balaam thrived there—seduction through participation, compromise through culture, and idolatry disguised as entertainment. Satan didn’t need to force worship; he only needed to make it feel harmless. Pergamon perfected the strategy of making demonic symbols appear majestic, artistic, and culturally essential.

Soon: The Antichrist’s Earthly Throne

Scripture reveals that Satan’s throne will again shift—this time into the body of the Antichrist, the final counterfeit king. For Satan to be worshiped openly through the Beast, he must first reshape how humanity perceives evil. He must callous the conscience, soften the resistance, and make the imagery of the Beast appear playful, inviting, and even heroic.

The Antichrist will not rise in a world that fears Satan; he will rise in a world that has been conditioned to celebrate him. This requires decades of cultural grooming—turning demons into mascots, darkness into entertainment, witchcraft into children’s stories, and the grotesque into the humorous. Satan’s techniques have changed, but his deception has not: he must eliminate negative perception so that the world embraces the Beast willingly.

Satan’s Strategy: Make Darkness Cute, Funny, and Harmless

Today, Satan’s strategy is everywhere. He no longer needs Babylon’s towers or Pergamon’s altar; he uses media, entertainment, holidays, and cultural rituals to make demonic imagery feel normal. Cartoons, costumes, movies, and celebrations turn the symbols of hell into playful icons. What once terrified nations now decorates homes, fills store shelves, and entertains children. This is not accidental—it is strategic.

Satan must ensure the population no longer views him negatively. He must make the grotesque charming, the demonic funny, and the Beast’s imagery familiar. By the time the Antichrist appears, humanity will already be conditioned to embrace what God calls detestable.

Pergamon, an Institution of Knowledge

Satan’s earliest strategy in the Garden was to use the Tree of Knowledge as his counterfeit university—an invitation for humanity to pursue wisdom apart from God. When Adam and Eve reached for that fruit, they enrolled in the serpent’s curriculum: knowledge divorced from obedience, enlightenment divorced from holiness, and curiosity divorced from covenant.

That moment became the foundation of a counterfeit educational system built on self‑definition, self‑exaltation, and self‑governance. Babylon later institutionalized this rebellion, but Pergamon perfected it. What began as a single tree became a global ideology—knowledge without God, truth without Scripture, and enlightenment without the Spirit.

By the time Satan established his throne in Pergamon, the Tree of Knowledge had evolved into the world’s largest university of demonic wisdom.
The altar of Zeus stood as the institution's centerpiece, a monument to human brilliance divorced from divine truth. Pergamon became the ancient world's intellectual capital, boasting libraries, philosophies, and religious systems that dazzled the mind while corrupting the soul. It was the serpent’s university—where deception was academic, idolatry was cultural, and spiritual compromise was celebrated as enlightenment. Satan simply upgraded his classroom: from a tree in Eden to a throne in Pergamon, from a single temptation to a global curriculum. And the world, unaware, kept enrolling.

So, what nation popularized Halloween? What nation is known most for its institutions of knowledge? Next week we will probe those questions.

Stay Tuned In.

Some have begun to wonder if America is quietly becoming the new Pergamon—a nation crowned with cultural altars, intellectual thrones, and celebrations that mirror the ancient patterns of seduction once found beneath Zeus’s shadow. The resemblance isn’t declared from the rooftops, but it whispers through our institutions, our entertainments, and our growing comfort with the very imagery Scripture warns against. It’s almost as if the old throne has found a modern address, waiting for someone with discernment to notice.
